Reaching Investors For A Trading Software Company Through Social Media
An organic TikTok and Instagram strategy aimed at high net worth individuals and institutional hedge funds.
This was my own company, not a client engagement.
You would probably not believe that the best way to attract investors is social media. I had to run the tests myself before I believed it, and now it makes complete sense.
Investors buy on brand image and relationships. They want to partner with someone who looks like they do well for themselves, clearly knows what they are doing, and who they have a decent personal relationship with. None of that comes across in a search result.
The company
Amadea builds trading software for the Forex market, used by high net worth individuals and institutional hedge funds.
That audience does not go to search engines to find a software company like this. They might search for developers to build something of their own, but anyone looking to outsource runs straight into the scams the industry is full of. The only way to reach them is on social, showing them you are real. That opens a dialogue.
What I did
The opening campaign was video content spread organically through TikTok and Instagram. Most followers were funnelled from TikTok into Instagram, because of the rate of growth TikTok gives you on video.
I produced 8 videos a week across the two platforms. Posting that regularly is what scaled the account, and the followers were genuine people engaging with the content rather than an inflated number.
Most of the effort went into making the videos. Once a batch was made the hard part was done, and the only ongoing demand was a steady supply of content ideas, which AI made straightforward.
The results
- 5 leads in the first week of the opening campaign.
- 600,000 weekly impressions.
- 10,000 Instagram followers in two months, growing to over 50,000 in the first year.
- That account produced about 90% of the company’s leads, at a solid engagement rate.
The ongoing work was social media management in the literal sense, a content engine that keeps producing rather than a campaign that ends.
